We collect only what we need, protect it carefully, and never sell it. Here is exactly what we do and why.

1. Who We Are
We Care Connect is a trade name (DBA) of DAWNE IT Solutions, operating a caregiver marketplace serving the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal information from Families, Caregivers, and visitors to wecaco.com.
2. Information We Collect
From Families
- Name, email address, phone number
- Home address and care location(s)
- Care recipient information (name, age, care needs, medical conditions relevant to caregiver matching)
- Payment information (processed and stored by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers)
- Communications with caregivers on the platform
- Reviews and ratings you submit
From Caregivers
- Name, email address, phone number, home address
- Government-issued ID (for identity verification)
- Social Security Number (for background checks — stored encrypted, never shared with families)
- Professional licenses, certifications, and insurance documents
- Banking information for payment disbursements (stored by our payment processor)
- Profile photo and biography
- Background check results (summary status only is shown to families)
Automatically Collected
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- IP address and approximate location
- Pages visited and features used
- Cookies and session identifiers (see Cookie Policy below)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To match Families with qualified, vetted Caregivers
- To process background checks and verify credentials
- To facilitate payments and hold funds in escrow
- To send booking confirmations, reminders, and platform notifications
- To investigate safety incidents or complaints
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
- To improve platform features based on usage patterns (anonymized)
We do not use your information to train AI models. We do not use it for targeted advertising on third-party platforms.
4. Sensitive Information
Care recipient health information is used only to match appropriate caregiver qualifications and is not sold or disclosed to any third party except as required by law or in a safety emergency.
5. Information Sharing
With Other Users
Families see caregiver profile information (name, photo, credentials summary, background check status, reviews). Caregivers see family first name, care location (neighborhood level), and care needs summary. Full addresses are shared only after a booking is confirmed.
With Service Providers
We share information with vendors who help us operate the platform, under strict data processing agreements:
- Background check provider (Checkr or equivalent)
- Payment processor (Stripe)
- Email and SMS communication provider
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure (AWS)
- Identity verification provider
Legal & Safety Disclosures
We will disclose information when required by law, court order, or to prevent imminent harm to a person. We will report suspected elder abuse to Adult Protective Services as required by DC, Maryland, and Virginia mandatory reporting laws.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
6. Data Retention
- Active account data: retained while your account is open
- Background check records: retained for 7 years per regulatory requirements
- Payment records: retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
- Deleted account data: personal identifiers removed within 90 days; aggregated/anonymized usage data may be retained longer
- Care recipient health information: deleted within 30 days of account closure unless required for an open dispute or legal matter
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of non-essential communications
- Lodge a complaint with your state Attorney General's office

8. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies for:
- Session management (keeping you logged in)
- Security (CSRF protection, fraud detection)
- Usage analytics via Google Analytics 4 (page views and booking-funnel events, with IP anonymization enabled)
We do not use third-party advertising cookies and we do not sell or share analytics data with advertisers. Google Analytics receives an anonymized IP and aggregates the data for our internal usage reporting only.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking globally, install Google's official browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; this may affect platform functionality.
9. Children's Privacy
We Care Connect is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it promptly. Contact privacy@wecaco.com if you believe a minor's information has been collected.
