Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully. By using We Care Connect, you agree to be bound by them.

Last updated: April 1, 2026

1. About We Care Connect

We Care Connect is a trade name (DBA) of DAWNE IT Solutions ("DAWNE IT Solutions," "we," "our," or "us"). We Care Connect operates an online marketplace platform that connects individuals and families seeking elder care services ("Families") with independent professional caregivers ("Caregivers") in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area (DC, Maryland, and Virginia).

We are a marketplace — not a home care agency. Caregivers who use our platform are independent contractors, not employees of We Care Connect. We facilitate the connection, vetting process, payment escrow, and communications between Families and Caregivers.

2. Eligibility

For Families

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.
  • You must be located in or seeking care within the DMV (DC, Maryland, or Virginia).
  • You must have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself and any care recipient.
  • You must provide accurate information about yourself and the care recipient.

For Caregivers

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • You must pass our full background check, license verification, and insurance verification process before accepting any booking.
  • You must maintain current licensure and insurance for the duration of your activity on the platform.
  • You must accurately represent your qualifications, certifications, and experience.

3. Account Registration & Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@wecaco.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not share your account, create multiple accounts, or use another user's account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. The Vetting Gate

Our commitment: Every caregiver is background-checked, license-verified, and insured before they can accept a single booking. This is non-negotiable and cannot be waived by any family or caregiver.

Our vetting process includes, at minimum:

  • National criminal background check via Checkr (continuous monitoring updated daily; annual full re-screen)
  • Sex offender registry check
  • Identity verification
  • Professional license and certification verification
  • Liability insurance verification (minimum $1M per occurrence)
  • Reference checks (minimum two professional references)

Passing our vetting process does not constitute an employment offer, endorsement, or guarantee of fitness for any particular care situation. Families are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence and interview caregivers before booking.

5. Platform Use & Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use We Care Connect to:

  • Solicit or accept bookings outside the platform to circumvent fees or protections.
  • Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any user.
  • Share another user's personal information without consent.
  • Use the platform for any purpose unrelated to elder care services.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with platform systems.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of funds held in escrow, and referral to appropriate authorities where required by law.

6. Marketplace Relationship

We Care Connect provides the technology and vetting infrastructure. We are not a party to the care relationship between Families and Caregivers. This means:

  • Caregivers are independent contractors, not We Care Connect employees.
  • We do not supervise, direct, or control the manner in which care is delivered.
  • We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any caregiver or family member.
  • Care agreements (rates, schedules, care plans) are between Families and Caregivers.

7. Reviews & Feedback

Reviews must be honest, first-hand, and based on actual care experiences. We prohibit fake reviews, retaliatory reviews, and reviews posted in exchange for compensation. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines. We do not manipulate or selectively publish reviews to favor any user.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a safety risk to other users.

Upon termination, any funds held in escrow will be released or refunded per our Billing & Cancellation Policy. Sections covering liability, dispute resolution, and data retention survive termination.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, We Care Connect's aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid to us in the three months preceding the claim, or (b) $500.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, loss of data, or personal injury arising from care relationships facilitated through the platform.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes not resolved informally will be submitted to binding arbitration in Washington, DC under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We will notify you of material changes to these terms via email and in-platform notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
